ISE has announced changes to its board including appointing three new directors.
The need for a focused community to weather the maelstrom of change was echoed throughout this year’s AGM.
Alongside an update on the ISE’s performance and priorities for the coming year, we welcomed Hollie Valler, Tom Baker and Andrew Wright as new members to the ISE board of directors. They replace Lucy Hegarty and Damian Riley who have served their four-year term.
Hollie Valler joins the board with 17 years of early careers experience. They are currently European Early Careers Manager at Arcadis, covering the UK, Ireland, Netherlands, Belgium, Spain and Portugal. Speaking at the AGM, Hollie said:
“Our sector is a real passion of mine, so when the opportunity to join the board came up, I jumped at the chance. There are real change and new challenges happening in early careers at the moment and from working across many sectors, I feel that I have a lot to contribute to help drive the ISE forward.”
Meanwhile Tom Baker brings a breadth of experience in their current role as Head of Talent and Resourcing at M&G:
“Within my role I’m fortunate to have a broader lens across resourcing and talent as well as early careers, which I hope will be useful in both insight and experience to the ISE.”
Also new to the board is Andrew Wright. Current Associate Director at King’s College London, he oversees the institution’s connectivity with employers and its global employer reputation, which supports careers education and work-based learning provision for students. Andrew commented:
“I have spent 15 years in student and graduate recruitment, looking at talent both in the UK and internationally. The partnership between education, employers and solution providers is ever more critical today and ISE has always been a stabilising community - the place to go for best practice and knowledge during turbulent times. It is great to join the board and have the opportunity to support our community in finding solutions to those challenges over the coming years.”
ISE Chair, Joan Moore added: “A warm welcome to our new directors, at what is an exciting time for new people to join us. Our directors help push forward the ISE’s strategy and vision, and do so alongside their busy day jobs, so the commitment is very much appreciated.
“Of course, we also have to say goodbye to those who have served their term. Lucy and Damian have been active voices at the board table. Your wise counsel and constructive challenge have always been valued and we thank you very much for everything you have done.
“To all of our members, I would like to encourage you to stay connected. Following board members on LinkedIn is a great way to keep updated on ISE and more broadly. If you see us at events, please come and talk to us. We love to hear your experience of ISE, what you’re enjoying, what you’d like more of or can’t find. I’m looking forward to the new collaborations and conversations in the year ahead.”
We hold events throughout the year including the forthcoming Apprenticeship Conference, Development Conference and advance booking is now open for our flagship Recruitment Conference.
