Institute of Student Employers called an Extraordinary General Meeting(EGM) to formally appoint three new Directors to its Board.
Long-standing ISE members, Hayley Bowd, Helen Fawcett and Justin Fay join the ISE Board, each bringing a unique blend of expertise, vision and commitment to advancing the future of early careers recruitment and development
Hayley Bowd has spent 14 years in the early talent space at companies like Caterpillar, PA Consulting and Thomas Cook.
She is currently Director of Emerging Talent and Careers at Expedia Group, overseeing global recruitment and programme delivery across a wide range of pathways—from internships and graduate hiring to apprenticeships, military placements, and returnships.
Speaking at the EGM, Hayley said: “I’ve got lots of value out of being an ISE member and always really appreciated the community, knowledge sharing and the opportunity to get together, so I’m thrilled to join the Board.
“I’m deeply passionate about shaping opportunities for all types of emerging talent and interested in the policy piece around campus to corporate skills. I look forward to contributing a global perspective, particularly around areas like social mobility.”
Helen Fawcett also offers an international perspective as Head of Early Careers at National Grid. She leads US and UK strategy, looking at the development of early talent as well as how they feed into leadership pipelines. She held previous roles at Jaguar Land Rover and a not-for-profit.
Helen commented: “I’m incredibly proud to be joining the ISE Board. At National Grid, I’m driven by our commitment to the communities we serve, and that’s a value that runs deeply through our early careers work. ISE has been a vital source of insight and support for me in this role.
“The sense of community, the shared ambition to shape the future of the profession, and the opportunity to amplify diverse voices are all things that resonate deeply with me. I’m excited to roll up my sleeves, collaborate with fellow board members, and help drive meaningful impact across our sector.”
Justin Fay joins our Board with in-house, RPO and international experience over 13 Years. Currently Talent Acquisition Lead for Early Careers at Deloitte, he is responsible for ensuring his team identify and hire the right skills and capabilities into Deloitte, offering an exceptional experience for early careers cohorts as they integrate into the organisation.
“I’m delighted to be joining the ISE at such a pivotal moment for our industry. With so much change underway, it’s an exciting and important time to contribute.
“I hope to bring the breadth of my experience to help shape the future direction of our profession and ensure that ISE continues to be a vital source of support, insight, and guidance for its members. Navigating transformation is never easy, but by working together, we can adapt and thrive in the years ahead.”
Commenting on the appointment, Sarah Hathaway, joint CEO at ISE said: “We are absolutely delighted to welcome our three new board directors. Their diverse backgrounds reflect our evolving profession and each brings a wealth of experience, insight, and passion to our community.
“I’m confident their contributions will help shape our strategic direction and strengthen the support we offer our members. I look forward to working alongside them as we navigate the challenges and opportunities ahead."
ISE Chair, Joan Moore added: “One of the things I love about the Board is the fact the Director term is four years, ensuring that we get a strong rotation of talent bringing fresh perspectives, insights and ideas to the table. This allows us to continuously evolve and ensures that our strategy is representative of all our members.”
