Board responsibilities - Chair

Joan Moore brings over two decades of experience in recruitment, spanning agency recruiting, higher education, and some of the world's leading organisations.

She began her career in agency recruiting before moving into higher education, an experience that gave her a grounding in the talent landscape from both sides of the equation.

In 2011, Joan joined Accenture, progressing from Senior Recruiter to Head of Early Talent for the UK, where she led an award-winning team. During her tenure, she drove a significant transformation in early talent acquisition, overhauling the end-to-end recruitment experience to attract the best and most diverse candidates. In September 2025, Joan joined Sage as Global Early Careers Director, where she holds overall accountability for the attraction, hiring, onboarding and development of early careers hires across ten global locations.

A firm believer in the power of cross-industry collaboration, Joan joined the ISE Board in January 2021, initially serving as Treasurer before becoming Chair in March 2024. In this role, she is committed to ensuring ISE plays an active part in shaping a more inclusive and opportunity-rich landscape for the next generation.

Joan has had first-hand experience of the way that technology plays a key role in driving innovation in recruiting but she is equally passionate about ensuring this is balanced with genuinely human experiences. She believes the best recruitment is both frictionless and high-impact, leaving candidates and colleagues alike with an experience that stands out for all the right reasons.
