Information

As part of this conference, Simon Reichwald, Founder of UnTapped Talent & ISE Fellow, will be speaking with Richard Freeborn, Global Head of TA (at the multi ISE award winning) Howden Insurance, exploring:

How the world of work has changed and needs to change for to make the most of talent coming out of education, through the lens of:

  • young people
  • organisations
  • hiring managers

We say we want early talent, but it is tougher for them to have ‘experiences of work’ and in so doing develop the right work behaviours and gain careers insights

So how do we identify what people could become?

Just as organisations are embracing skills-based hiring, AI is changing the very jobs that traditionally helped grads and apprentices build the skills needed.

All this means, the question isn't whether today's young people are different. The question is whether organisations, hiring processes and management approaches have evolved quickly enough to make the most of this talent.

More widely the conference will explore and share research into the reality that we are living longer, working longer and entering a world where careers are becoming multi-stage, fluid and continually reinvented. Yet many organisations still recruit, develop and structure talent for a model built around shorter careers, linear progression and fixed expertise. So how does this need to change?
