Quarterly meetings are organised by the steering group, as listed below, and all members based in Scotland and the North are very welcome to attend and contribute to the discussions.

Kay Jones (Chair)
Kay Jones has been Assistant Director (Business Engagement, Marketing & Events) at the Newcastle University Careers Service since September 2015 and has strategic responsibility for business engagement, student employment (including placements), marketing, events and communications. Kay has held a number of senior roles in Newcastle University over the past ten years, prior to which she worked in retail, recruitment and commercial sports & hospitality management.
Lynne Lockier (Vice-Chair)
Lynne is an Assistant Manager within KPMG’s UK Student Recruitment team, responsible for graduate/undergraduate recruitment within Scotland and the North offices. Lynne’s role is dedicated to ensuring KPMG’s student recruitment programmes have a strong profile at target universities in this region and that KPMG’s recruitment process is leading within its industry. Following ten years recruitment experience within the Scottish market place Lynne joined KPMG in 2013 to support the delivery of the UK wide recruitment strategy across a full range of student programmes from work experience and apprenticeships through to graduate roles and became a specialist for the Scottish market in 2015. Lynne’s role then expanded to include the North of England in May 2017.
Carla has been working in student recruitment for over 10 years and is currently Student Recruitment Manager at Hymans Robertson. Her role oversees the graduate, intern, industrial placement and work experience programmes for all four of their offices across the UK. Hymans is an independent consultancy who provide advice on pensions, risk, investment and insurance, as well as data and technology solutions to their clients. Carla is also a passionate member of both their diversity and inclusion and wellbeing groups.
Kirsty is the Graduate Recruitment Manager for Edinburgh Napier University, a role which she has held since late 2018. She began her career with Eden Scott where she largely focused on large-scale graduate recruitment projects for employers within the Scottish Utilities and Life Science industries. She moved into internal recruitment in 2017, joining Edinburgh Napier University as their Talent & Recruitment Consultant to build a centralised recruitment function for the University. This was highly commended, with her team winning the S1 Jobs Award for Best Internal Recruitment Team in April 2018.
As the Graduate Recruitment Manager for the University she leads on all internal graduate and student level appointments and works closely with a wide range of graduate employers to help identify ways for them to engage with and recruit Edinburgh Napier students and recent graduates.
Helen is University Partnerships Manager for Smart Resourcing Solutions. Whether through small scale workshops or award winning large assessment simulations, Helen works with universities to improve graduate employability and recruitment. During her 12 years as a leader within The John Lewis Partnership, Helen gained 'The Chairman's Award for Excellence' for her work around learning and development. She is now using her experience in recruitment, learning and development to increase the skills, confidence and aspirations of students applying for graduate jobs or placements. She values opportunities in which to help people achieve their potential, and acts as a mentor for Widening Participation students.
Richard Pool is the Employer Engagement Manager for the University of Dundee Careers Service, working across all schools with responsibility for careers fairs, internship sourcing all other employer engagement activities. Prior to taking on his current role, Richard worked in a student development role, setting up the Dundee Plus Skills Award Programme at Dundee. Richard held a number of Branch and Relationship Management roles with Bank of Scotland before joining the University of Dundee in 2008.
