Lower percentage of female STEM graduates in countries with greater gender equality

A new study has found that countries with greater gender equality see a smaller proportion of women taking degrees in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
The study findings could be used to revisit initiatives to increase women's participation in STEM, say the researchers.
The study was conducted by researchers from Leeds Beckett University in the UK and the University of Missouri in the USA.
