Work visas for international graduates to be extended to two years

International graduates will be allowed to stay in the UK for two years to find a job, overturning Theresa May's restrictive immigration policies. 

The government hopes the two-year post-study visa will help UK employers recruit and retain the best global talent, particularly in STEM-related fields. 

Stephen Isherwood, chief executive of the Institute of Student Employers, welcomed the decision, saying it will enhance opportunities for UK-based students and graduates by allowing them to “develop a global mindset”.
