Apprenticeship providers cannot meet SME's demands

A quarter of small and medium-sized business have been turned away by training providers due to a shortage in apprenticeship levy funding. 

According to the Association of Employment and Learning Providers (AELP) survey, three out four training providers can no longer meet demand from SME employers.

Boris Johnson said that apprentices are 'indispensable to this country' and promised they would be 'properly funded'.
