Working eight hours a week is enough to boost mental health

There is evidence that unemployment has a negative impact on mental health. 

A study conducted by Cambridge University found that moving from unemployment or stay-at-home parenting into paid work reduced the risk of mental health problems by 30 per cent. 

Researchers suggest there is no extra mental health benefit from working longer than eight hours a week.
