Outcome of the IoT competition

The Department for Education is creating a network of new Institutes of Technology (IoTs) across the country through a national competition.

The list of the first successful applicants in line for a share of £170m in capital funding
has been unveiled. 

According to application guidance from the DfE, they will offer “higher-level technical skills on a par with more academic routes” and will “achieve the same level of prestige as universities”.
