DfE confirms £400m apprenticeship levy underspend

City & Guilds Group have released a report titled The Languishing Levy Pot: Accessing unspent apprenticeship funds.

After the Freedom of Information request from the City & Guilds Group, the DfE confirmed that in 2017/18, there remains a £400m underspend (20% of the £2.01bn budget).

Kirstie Donnelly, managing director at City & Guilds Group, said the government must be clear with employers about what their levy is actually covering.
