Legal recruitment: pros and cons of recruiting two years in advance

Pros:

1. Certainty

2. Students have time to mature in two years

3. Students can secure funding from law firms

 

Cons:

1. Many students do not get an offer. Offers often go to graduates. 

2. Students are left doing jobs they don't want to do while waiting for an offer. 

3. A firm could even collapse in two years, or go through a lot of change.
