The Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy's (BEIS) data reveals that the construction sector’s workforce had the highest proportion of white people of any UK industry.

However, there appears to be little other sector data available both in respect of BAME worker numbers or on ethnicity pay.

Many suspect there may be a huge ethnicity pay gap in the sector.

At the moment it is not a requirement to publish this information, but that may be about to change. There is currently an open government consultation on this subject.
