Do degree grades matter?

Universities are being warned they may be penalised regarding grade inflation. 

According to Stephen Isherwood, two-thirds of employers expect a 2.1 as a minimum. 

However, the picture is not so clear-cut as employers want greater diversity in their workforce. This has led to less emphasis on grades.
