Parents turn up noses at apprenticeships

Research from ABM UK reveals that among parents who are familiar with the concept of apprenticeships, just 14 per cent consider it to be a good option.

The top reasons for dismissing them as an option included:

  • Seen as last resort for young people who fail exams
  • Perceived to be poorly paid
  • Not seen as a good route to a successful career
