BDO LLP is a global accountancy and business advisory firm. With a global network that extends to 162 countries and over 80,000 employees, we’re helping clients navigate a changing world. Here in Britain, we work with ambitious, entrepreneurially-spirited businesses that fuel the UK economy.
Our people share our clients’ entrepreneurial mindset - it’s their expertise and ethos that drives their success, and ultimately, the success of our business, so finding, attracting and retaining the right people is key to our future growth.
Our Early in Careers resourcing team is responsible for hiring around 600 students into our four key programmes each year; Graduates, Apprentices, Interns and Summer School. This team plays a vital role in ensuring we attract the very best candidates from a whole range of backgrounds, with the potential to become future leaders at BDO.
This is a pivotal role within our HR function - you’ll be accountable for ensuring our operational activity is delivered to a high standard, that commercially, the team is meeting the needs of the wider business, and that our EiC headcount targets are achieved on time. You’ll lead and shape a team of 12 - 16 experienced individuals, made up of Senior Advisers, Advisers and Coordinators, as well as the EiC Resourcing Manager. Ultimately, you’ll have the opportunity to shape the future of EiC at BDO.
This key role will see you developing and leading the strategy to find BDO’s future leaders, partnering with the HR leadership team and ensuring the Early in Careers strategy supports the goals of both the HR function and the wider business.
You’ll build positive and effective relationships with key stakeholders, develop an innovative approach to our EiC assessment and deliver a consistently strong candidate experience, resulting in quality hires.
Finally, your strong leadership skills will inspire, motivate and set the tone for the culture of the entire EiC team.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
As a proven leader, you’ll have the ability to think strategically, challenge convention and drive change within the constantly-changing EiC landscape. You’ll need considerable experience of successfully building, managing and engaging large, diverse teams, the ability to understand commercial drivers and evidence of a thorough approach to managing and mitigating risk.
Your communication skills will be exceptional - you’ll need to engage, influence and negotiate with individuals at every level. You should also be willing to travel within the UK.
At BDO, we value our people. Our rich culture, strong purpose and clearly-lived values drive our behaviour. We believe in providing people with the opportunity to develop, to be part of a supportive community and most importantly, to be themselves.
