This role as Emerging Talent Recruitment Manager is a new role which will be based within an expanding Team within Mace’s Human Resources function.  

This role is focussed on providing operational leadership and management of attraction, selection and onboarding for Mace’s Graduate Development Programme, Industrial Placements, Summer Placements, Apprentices and Trainees and also will provide support across all other aspects of management of all Emerging Talent activity at Mace 



Job summary


  • Effective management of set up and delivery of attraction, selection and onboarding activity to meet recruitment targets for all Mace Emerging Talent Programmes – achieving targets in relation to recruitment numbers, calibre and diversity of recruits within agreed timeframe. E.g., for 2018 targets were 73 graduates, 40 undergraduates (summer and Industrial placements), 20 Insight Week attendees and 33 Higher/Degree Apprentices

  • Supplier management of external suppliers in relation to Emerging Talent attraction, selection and onboarding

  • Effective management and reporting on budget for Emerging Talent Recruitment

  • Regular reporting on progress of Emerging Talent Recruitment to senior internal stakeholders

  • Production of relevant data-based analysis of Emerging Talent recruitment campaigns, at relevant periods to inform future activity

  • Regular reporting on progress of Emerging Talent Recruitment to senior internal stakeholders

  • Effective management and reporting on budget for Emerging Talent Recruitment

  • Attend and manage Mace team at external Emerging Talent recruitment events

  • Management of relationships with construction/civil engineering departments at target universities.

  • Management of set up and delivery of effective external events at universities and other locations to attract applications for Emerging Talent Programmes.

  • Share in work of managing and supporting selection activity e.g. interviews, group interviews and assessment centres.

  • Deliver an effective onboarding experience for all Emerging Talent Recruits minimising the numbers of offers declined.

  • Support where required activity related to development of Mace Graduates, Undergraduates and Higher/Degree Level Apprentices and Trainees.

  • Support delivery of wider Emerging Talent related activity and wider responsibilities of Mace Talent and Development Team and Mace Human Resources Team


Person Specification 

Technical Competencies required

  • Understanding of Secondary & Higher Education in the UK

  • Operational experience of managing recruitment including providing guidance to operational colleagues as to best practice

  • Supplier management skills

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications – minimum Basic level in Outlook, Word,  Excel, Powerpoint and Skype for Business

  • Basic-Mid Level understanding of Apprenticeships in the UK and Apprenticeship Levy.

  • Identifying training needs

Qualifications, Certifications and Experience required

  • Experience of managing volume recruitment activity
  • Experience of co-ordinating design and delivery of internal training events
  • Experience of managing external recruitment advertising and talent and development suppliers
  • Assoc CIPD membership or higher (Desired)
  • Qualified in Psychometric testing and assessment (Desired)
