- Introduction to Classof2020: Kevin Ghassemi and Norbert Morawetz
Recent graduates searching for employment currently face an extremely challenging economic environment. Internships are down 40%, one-third of 16-24-year-old employees (excluding students) have lost jobs or been furloughed and the number of young people receiving Universal Credit has risen by a quarter of a million. The Resolution Foundation predicts that students are 13% less likely to have a job in three years’ time as a result of the pandemic.
Founded in response to the COVID-19 crisis, Class of 2020 is a free online learning platform created by volunteers and supported by leading global businesses, to ensure young people can thrive not just survive during these unprecedented times. By creating a free online learning platform, our mission is to enable young people to develop essential employability skills, relationships with employers and a professional network to help them start a career despite the daunting post-pandemic economic environment.
Classof2020 are here to give a talk on why we need your support to reach as many young people as possible at a time when they need it most!
