Our latest End-of-Season Pulse Survey, for employers, is due by Friday 8 December.

This survey captures hires, offers, reneges and 2018 hiring predictions.

Our latest ISE Development Survey, for employers, has been extended to Thursday 21 December.

This survey captures the latest graduate development trends including skills gaps for graduates and apprentices, the design of graduate development programmes, manager training, retention and progression trends, methods of assessing performance, cost per hire estimates and much more.

Wider context:

 

ISE captures some of the most comprehensive snapshots of student recruitment and development activity in the UK. Our Annual Surveys of employers typically receive around 200 responses from organisations which operate in over 15 sectors, recruit over 20,000 graduates a year, and represent companies with over 2.5 million staff. Key trends are explored for graduates, apprentices, interns and placement students. Some of our research also stretches back over 15 years so we can take a long-term perspective of key industry trends.

We aim to help key stakeholders benchmark their offers, respond to new trends like diversity initiatives, identify and define shared challenges like closing skills gaps, secure resources within their organisation, and create great opportunities for their student hires
. The results of our research are shared at ISE events throughout the year and made available to members via an interactive Data Dashboard.

 

Research calendar:

 

We typically run three main surveys a year.

ISE Annual Survey – typically collected in June/July and launched at a special end-of-season event in September. The focus is on the recruitment lifecycle including attraction & marketing and selection & assessment activities, as well as median starting salaries, hiring volumes, applications per vacancy and cost per hire estimates.

ISE Development Survey – typically collected in November/December and launched at the ISE Student Development Conference in March. The focus is on graduate development programmes as well as retention, progression, performance and skills training trends and cost per hire estimates.

ISE “Hot Topic” survey – typically collected in April and launched at the ISE Annual Student Recruitment Conference in June/July. The focus of these surveys varies but is on a topic of significant interest to the industry.  Previous topics have been on Apprenticeships, Diversity & Inclusion and “How do you and your team compare?” in terms of HR resourcing and salaries.

We also run short Pulse Surveys on topics of interest including an end-of-season survey benchmarking offers and reneges and next year's hiring predictions.
